Cirrus Aircraft today announced that Intelligent Radar powered by Garmin® and Cirrus IQ™ connectivity have been incorporated as advanced features into the Vision Jet, the world's best-selling personal jet. These upgrades provide pilots with greater situational awareness and connectivity during all pre-flight and flight phases.

Auto Radar allows the pilot to select the range and then automatically scan the area ahead displaying a composite, real-time image of cloud cover. By activating “Auto Radar” an optimal horizontal scanning pattern and vertical scanning combination, the system automatically works to create a detailed view of the clouds ahead. Volumetrically plots areas of precipitation to provide the pilot with a real-time composite view of radar returns. Images are sharp with a 16-color palette and improved automatic ground suppression.
The other new addition is the Cirrus IQ, now available on the Vision Jet. With the Cirrus IQ mobile app, pilots can proactively check key aircraft items, updated after every flight. These key items include oxygen system status, fuel system status, aircraft location, flight hours, engine cycles, and more.
Cirrus IQ makes tracking aircraft maintenance even easier with features such as “Maintenance Minder” and “Technical Publications” so that owners can keep track of their aircraft's maintenance intervals and stay up to date with any applicable technical publications for their aircraft. The “My Trips” and “Achievements” features automatically record each completed flight. The “Find Us” feature allows owners to quickly locate Cirrus Aircraft facilities, Authorized Service Centers and Training Centers near the aircraft.
The LTE-enabled hardware that powers the Cirrus IQ is standard on newly manufactured Vision Jets G2+, and Intelligent Radar is available as part of the Enhanced Awareness Package. The Smart Radar and Cirrus IQ adaptations will be available to Vision Jet G2 and G2+ owners in the future through Cirrus upgrades and accessories. For more information, get in touch.
