Boeing held this past Sunday (13) and Monday (14) presentations with its newest aircraft, the 777-9X, at the Singapore Airshow, also marking the second appearance of the aircraft at a public event.

The twin-engine giant performed some unconventional maneuvers on a regular flight to the delight of the accompanying public. The aircraft alternated maneuvers with a considerable angle of attack with lateral inclinations within the limits of Fly-By-Wire permissions.

The entire video performance is extremely real, and was filmed directly at the event, unlike a few videos that Boeing has published of computer-simulated presentations.

With around 300 firm orders, Boeing is running a 777X sales campaign in several countries. In November, the aircraft appeared at the Dubai Airshow, for demonstrations to companies in the Middle East that are responsible for half of the orders.

In Asia, Singapore Airshow reaffirmed its commitment to the Boeing 777X, placing an order this Tuesday (15) by ordering 22 GE9X engines, which equip this aircraft, in a negotiation of US$ 2,8 billion with GE Aviation.

Singapore Airlines has a total of 31 orders for Boeing 777-9 aircraft and is scheduled to be the first airline in the Asia-Pacific region to operate this new generation widebody aircraft. In 2017, the airline placed an initial order for 40 GE9X engines.

Meanwhile, Boeing is primarily trying to draw the attention of airlines in China, South Asia and Japan to the 777X. Expected demand is for 2470 new aircraft in this category over the next 20 years, according to projections by competitor Airbus.
