With a debt of R$ 180 million and without authorization to fly, Itapemirim attracts the attention of investors

It's been almost 50 days since Itapemirim Transportes Aéreos (ITA) suspended its operations, impacting more than 100 engers during the period without flights.

The debuting company currently has a debt of approximately R$ 180 million, involving airport fees, aircraft leasing, suppliers, employees and engers. The liabilities generated by ITA already exceed the non-labor and tax debts of the road part of the Itapemirim Group, valued at R$ 176 million.

Even with all these problems, and with the operational certificate (COA) suspended by ANAC, according to the O Globo newspaper, a two groups of investors are interested in ITA Transportes Aéreos.

According to information provided by the newspaper, two foreign private equity funds are in advanced conversations with Sidnei Piva de Jesus, owner of the company, for the transfer of the airline through a payment to Itapemirim and ITA debts.

Despite the interest, the investor fund wants to expel Sidnei Piva de Jesus from the company's istration, and make an airline completely istratively independent of the Itapemirim Group.

In recent weeks, Itapemirim has sent two aircraft to USA, claiming to be for aircraft maintenance, which were transferred to the US by the leasing company itself. At the same time, justice forced ITA to pay R$ 1 million in late salaries of the airline's crew.
