From October 27th this year, engers on the LATAM will be able to travel the 11.300 km between Santiago de Chile and Sydney, Australia, on a direct flight between the two cities. With 4 weekly flights, up to 1.200 engers will be able to enjoy the convenience of traveling to Oceania in less than 15 hours, reducing travel time by 4 hours compared to the flight that stops in Auckland, New Zealand.
Flights from the Chilean capital to Sydney will take off every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 01:40 (local time), arriving at the destination at 06:30 (local time). And from Sydney the departures will be every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 12:10 (local time), arriving in Santiago at 11:00 (local time).
This direct route was available between 2019 and 2020, but was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The route is in addition to Santiago-Melbourne, which resumed in September 2023 and has three weekly frequencies. With the start of operations next October, LATAM engers from across the region will be able to access daily flights to Australia, which translates into more than 200 thousand travelers per year for business and tourism.
