On the morning of this Wednesday (23), the Brazilian air force celebrated at the Brasília Air Base (BABR), the Day of the Aviator and the FAB, a date that commemorates the historic flight of Alberto Santos Dumont with the 14-Bis.
The commemorative ceremony also served to decorate personalities and organizations with the Order of Aeronautical Merit medal, including the staging of the Danilo Opera, ing the historic deeds of Danilo Marques Moura, a Lieutenant who fought bravely in the Second World War for the 1st Fighter Aviation Group of the FAB (1ºGAvCa).
Speaking of World War II, the iconic P-47 B2 Thunderbolt aircraft made a historic appearance when it taxied alongside an Embraer A-29 Super Tucano that also bore the colors of the FAB's 1st Fighter Aviation Group, demonstrating the connection between the FAB's duty to the past, present and future. For those who don't , on January 28, 1942, Brazil ended diplomatic relations with the Axis countries (, Italy and Japan), in of the Allies, with FAB Fighter Aviation operating in Italian territory.

In addition to a brief low , the A-29 performed a performance to commemorate the FAB's participation during World War II, with a simulated bombing, taking everyone present by surprise.
