the state company Conviasa announced the resumption of regular flights to Brazil via Manaus. At first, the flights are scheduled to take place between the months of February and March. According to information from the portal aviationline, flights are scheduled to take place only on Thursdays between the dates of February 16th to March 23rd , with the flight leaving Puerto Ordaz at 12:30 pm (local time), landing in Manaus at 14:40 pm.
For the opposite route, departure from Manaus is scheduled to always take place at 15:40 pm, arriving in Venezuela at 17:50 pm (local time).
With the first regular operation in Brazil since 2018, it is not yet known whether Conviasa will expand its post-carnival operations or add new Brazilian capitals.
With the arrival of the Conviasa flight in Manaus, Brazil becomes the 7th country in which the company operates international flights, the list includes Russia, Spain, Cuba, Bolivia, São Vicente and the Grenadines and Mexico.
Interestingly, Conviasa is on the list of companies banned from operating in the United States by OFAC (Foreign Assets Control Agency), as the airline is used to transport Nicolás Maduro, as well as government officials considered illegitimate by the United States. As a result, any company that does business with the US, rents aircraft, provides services or flies with Conviasa, could be sanctioned by the US government.
