Yesterday (25) the first Embraer E195-E2 from KLM landed in Amsterdam, a classic European airline that once again opted for aircraft from the Brazilian Embraer.
The plane was received in Amsterdam with a special celebration on the ground. When opening the cockpit window two flags were visualized, from Holland and Brazil.
This E195-E2 must now undergo a period of adaptation in the airline's network, with ground operations and crew training, as is the case with the entire airline.
At KLM, the Embraer E195-E2 will operate in the company's regional arm, KLM Cityhopper.
The new Embraer E195-E2 has 132 seats, 20 in business class, eight in economy comfort and 104 in economics.
O Embraer E195-E2 it is the 50th E-Jet to KLM Cityhopper's fleet of 17 first-generation E175s and 32 E190s.
The total order of 35 jets, of which 25 are firm orders with an option for an additional 10, will be made available to KLM by ICBC Aviation Leasing (10) and Aircastle (15).
KLM recently exercised options for four more aircraft, thus expanding the firm order from 21 to 25 jets, with the additional aircraft coming from Aircastle's backlog.
KLM is a global leader in sustainability among airlines, taking steps to make operations even more sustainable. Fleet renewal is a strategy to reduce the company's environmental footprint. The E195-E2, Embraer's new generation aircraft, is specifically designed to reduce emissions and noise pollution.
The E2's environmental credentials are impressive: it offers a 31% reduction in carbon emissions per seat compared to the company's first-generation E190 jets.
