Aerolíneas Argentinas announced on social media the receipt of the second Boeing 737NG (-800) freighter. The aircraft landed yesterday (22) in the late afternoon at Ezeiza Airport (EZE) without the visual identity of the Argentine company. Now, the plane will go through the final check and receive a new paint job before starting operations.
During the conversion process, the aircraft received a new door adapted for cargo loading, fire systems, and its interior is now configured to accommodate containers, giving the 737-800 freighter the capacity to carry more than 23 tons.
The new 737-85F(SF) nomenclature is due to the conversion to a freighter, the second Boeing 737-800F with registration LV-KHQ operated in the past by Varig under registration PP-VSA, also operating by GOL Linhas Aéreas with registration PR -GIP.

The LV-KHQ has almost 22 years of operations, when it was delivered in September 2001 to Varig, remaining until October 2006. At GOL, this 737-800 operated from April 2007 until the end of 2014. Outside Brazil, this 737 was part of the Italian airlines Meridiana, Air Italy and Neos between 2015 and 2019, ending its operational enger life.
Including the LV-KHQ, Aerolíneas Argentinas another Boeing 737-800F with LV-CTC registration, it is not yet known whether there are plans to receive more cargo planes.
Finally, the possibility of LV-KHQ operating in Brazil is not ruled out, since Brazil and Argentina have strong ties in cargo transport, however, most operations are carried out by other operators such as LATAM Cargo, Qatar and KLM Cargo. However, it is very likely that the operations will take place in Campinas (V) or Guarulhos (GRU).
