BNDES can facilitate the purchase of Embraer planes by LATAM and GOL

According to information from Reuters, the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, announced that the bank will use the civil aviation fund as a credit guarantee so that LATAM and GOL can acquire Embraer aircraft, as a way of boosting the presence of national jets in Brazilian airlines.</p> "BNDES had no way of financing without resolving the guarantee issue, and the equation that was made is to use the civil aviation fund as a guarantee to grant credit. Now, there has to be a counterpart. What is the counterpart? Buying Brazilian aircraft from Embraer, because only around 8220% of the aircraft fleet of these companies are Embraers," said Mercadante. With this, the agreement for the sale of the aircraft would be at an advanced stage, becoming a great asset for Embraer, which is also suffering not only from the shortage of raw materials for manufacturing jets, but has also been losing employees to Boeing. “Of course there is commercial confidentiality, we cannot go into details, but the companies are quite advanced in the perspective of flying on Embraer,” added Mercadante.</p> Currently, only 12% of the commercial aircraft fleet in Brazil is made up of Embraer jets.
